World Champion Argentina to Play at Kyle Field, Jordan-Hare Stadium, as Road to 26 Visits Historic College Football Venues This June

Argentina faces Honduras at Texas A&M on June 6, plays Iceland at Auburn on June 9

HOUSTON — International soccer giant and current World Champion Argentina will play its final preparation matches before this summer’s World Cup at two iconic college football stadiums as part of Road to 26 presented by Turkish Airlines.

Led by eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, Argentina will square off with Honduras on Saturday, June 6, at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, before facing Iceland on Tuesday, June 9, at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama.

The June 6 match at Kyle Field is set for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT and will be only the second international soccer friendly played at the “Home of the 12th Man.” Mexico previously faced Brazil at the venue in June of 2024 in front of 85,249 fans, setting a record for Mexico’s men’s national team in the Lone Star State at the time.

Winners of three World Cup titles (1978, 1986, 2022), Argentina has won all three of its previous meetings with Honduras, including a 3-0 victory in a 2022 friendly in Miami.

The June 9 match at Jordan-Hare Stadium, set for 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT, will be the first international soccer contest in the venue’s 87-year history and marks Iceland’s first visit to the United States since 2016. Argentina’s only previous meeting with Iceland came in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup, when Iceland used its first-ever World Cup goal to force a stunning 1-1 draw.

Tickets for both Argentina matches go on sale Wednesday, April 15, at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT. Fans may register for exclusive pre-sale access at RoadTo26.com.

The Road to 26, a series of high-profile soccer matches co-promoted by Unified Events and Florida Citrus Sports (FCS), kicked off in March and features international giants such as Brazil, France, Colombia and Egypt. A current match schedule is included below.
